Our Story
It started as something we kept saying
The name came before the business did. It was a line that got repeated around our family for years, the sort of thing you say about someone who doesn't quit - about a certain kind of person, and a certain way of living.

2018
We started small
Rare Breed n Co began in 2018. The name came from a saying that had been going around our family for years.
By my side from the very beginning have been my Mum, Lauraine, and my Dad, Ron. Mum has been there for every step of it - the good runs and the quiet ones. .
The love of the land is what started it. Farming has its hard stretches, and Rare Breed n Co gave me somewhere to put that - a way to embrace a bit of creativity when the seasons weren't giving much back, and then to pass it on to the people who wear it.
Farming has its lean stretches. This gave us somewhere to put that energy & creativity.

Rodeo
Rodeo has been our life a long while
Rodeo has been part of who we are for a long time. The weekend practices where the whole family was involved - bull fighters, gate pullers, stop watch crew, videographers and the occasional hospital visits. The early starts, the grounds, the ups and downs and the drive home.
But while rodeo became a big part of Qynny’s story, all of our kids were raised with the same country roots. They grew up on the land - around cattle, motorbikes, machinery, long days, dirty clothes and the kind of childhood where you learnt to have a go and lend a hand. Rodeo might not have been the path they all chose, but the rural upbringing shaped each of them in thier own way and is a big part of the family we are today.
These days we have the absolute privilege of travelling to America to watch our Qynny chase his lifelong dream on the PBR and rodeo circuit. Sitting in the stands over there, a long way from Koumala, watching one of our own do the thing he's wanted since he was small - there aren't many feelings like it.
He carries Rare Breed n Co with him. Same values, same brand, other side of the world. Behind the brand is our whole family and the country upbringing that shaped everyone of us.
Old fashioned cowboy values
The old fashioned cowboy values that were instilled in me have been passed down through our family, and we carry them on to every one of you.
Show up. Do the work. Look after people. Make things properly.
More than a brand. It's a way of life.

The Founder
Meet Nadine
I'm local, born and bred. I grew up on the Sarina Range in rural Queensland, on a family property that started as a dairy farm before we moved into commercial cattle.
My upbringing was shaped by dirt, unpredictable weather, hard seasons and a whole lot of hard work. That's not a story I've dressed up for the sake of a brand. It's just how it was. Growing up on the land teaches you early that nothing comes without putting in the work, and the hardships that come with rural life build something in you that doesn't wash off.

Childhood for us was horses and motorbikes, swimming in creeks and dams, exploring the property and making our own fun. There was no one coming to entertain us. If something needed doing, you had a go. If something broke, you worked out how to fix it. You learnt to think for yourself and find a way through a problem, because that's what the day asked of you.
Those years gave me a deep connection to the country lifestyle and, more than that, to the people who live it. The ones who get up early, work through the hard seasons and keep their word. I learnt what matters out here: hard work, family, resilience and staying grounded.
So in 2018, I started Rare Breed n Co. Farming has its lean stretches, and I wanted somewhere to put that - a way to use a bit of creativity when the seasons weren't giving much back. I began designing pieces I'd actually want to wear myself, for the life I was already living. My Mum, Lauraine, has been behind every step of it. My husband Brett and our six kids have been in and out of it from the start. It was never a business plan on paper. It was a kitchen table and a lot of stubbornness.
Country life isn't something I found later on. It's part of who I am.
Rare Breed n Co has been built on that same mentality. Have a go. Work hard. Keep moving forward. Stay true to where you came from. Every decision I make for this brand runs back through the same values that were handed to me on that property.
The land doesn't just feed us. It shapes who we are.
Rare Breed n Co isn't simply inspired by country life. It was born from it.
